This past week, word of our partnership with leading sensor innovator Uhnder was featured by Transport Topics: “the companies are combining Spartan’s sensor software with Uhnder’s digital imaging radar technology to provide new safety features, such as high-contrast resolution to help differentiate closely spaced objects.”  This should prove to be a significant improvement existing radar technology and brings radar resolution closer to that of LiDAR — building a bridge to commercializing automated mobility solutions for all industry segments.

According to Eric Fuller, President and CEO of U.S. Xpress, one of the nation’s largest asset-based truckload carriers, “We’re always looking for the best safety technology and ways to provide more value to our customers. In the coming years as the ADAS market continues to improve and autonomous trucks begin to scale, we’ll need technologies that combine lidar-like resolution with sensor ruggedization. We’re looking for solutions that will handle the harsh real-world conditions of an autonomous truck driving hundreds of thousands of miles per year. We expect the Uhnder-Spartan partnership to deliver this performance; it can be a real game-changer.”

We are tremendously excited about our partnership with Uhnder because it dramatically accelerates the mission of bringing one of the safest sensing solutions to market, which will immediately result in saving lives. Spartan would like to thank Frost & Sullivan for highlighting how our software advances sensors technology across the industry by awarding us their 2022 North American Technology Innovation Leadership Award.

In their words, “Spartan Radar utilizes pioneering solutions to address performance concerns and seemingly unsolvable challenges in the autonomous vehicle space by adopting advanced technologies such as AI, machine learning, and object detection. The company perfectly complies with industry standards, and its customer-centric processes promote high customer satisfaction and new strategic partnerships that differentiate Spartan Radar from competitors.”

"high customer satisfaction and new strategic partnerships"

While we deeply appreciate Frost & Sullivan recognizing our competitive advantage, it’s our commitment to working with technology innovators across the industry to move automated mobility forward that we believe truly differentiates Spartan. We’ve engineered our signal optimizing software to unleash the power of all sensors and meet the needs of an ADAS industry eager for near-term pathways to commercialization. And our unique approach is gaining traction, as seen in recent coverage from key outlets like Transport Topics, SAE, Tech Crunch, and Automotive News.

We’re committed to advancing this vital conversation at every opportunity. Check out these industry panels — Manifest: Why Hasn’t the AV Industry Commercialized, and, CES: The Future is Already Happening: Self-Driving Vehicles.  And these podcasts: SAE’s Tomorrow Today, RoadSigns and The Road to Autonomy.

Thanks again to everyone who has been on this road with us. Our journey together is just beginning. If you would like to be part of the conversation of how we can work together to advance automated mobility, we’d love to hear from you!
