Associate VP for automotive compute at Marvell

Willard Tu is the Associate VP for Automotive Compute at Marvell, where he is responsible for global business development, product planning, and marketing strategies.

Willard has spent his career at the axis of semiconductors, automotive, and computing industries.  He brings considerable automotive experience from various past employers.

Most recently, as the automotive leader for Xilinx, he was able to more than double the revenue over his tenure, with wins in ADAS and advanced display technologies.

At ARM, he evangelized CPU IP and developed ecosystems to support ARM’s success in the Infotainment market, where ARM is the dominant market share leader today.

At NEC Electronics, he led the sales and marketing teams for the North American Automotive Business Unit (now Renesas). During his tenure, Willard grew sales to over $150 million.  He gained strategic microcontroller wins in Audio, Instrument Cluster, Airbags and Body with innovative application specific peripherals and system IP.

During his career, Willard has also worked for other semiconductor companies like Motorola Semiconductor Product Sector (now NXP), and National Semiconductor (now Texas Instruments), as well as a start-up, DSP Concepts, selling and marketing into the automotive market as well as the IoT and embedded markets.

In his free time, Willard volunteers at University of Michigan’s MconneX Alumni program where he participates in face-to-ace mentoring to aspiring engineering students.

Willard holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan and an MBA from the University of Phoenix.
